Volunteer Opportunity:

  • Telephone Reassurance: Telephone calls are made to isolated, frail seniors or the disabled to check on and reassure them.

Volunteer Time:

  • Time varies by client.

  • Must complete application, criminal background check and interview.  Anyone under 18 years must have parental permission and supervision.

Volunteer Opportunity:

  • Volunteers to the Homebound Program: volunteers reduce isolation with companionship and assistance for the frail and homebound. 

Volunteer Time:

  • Time varies by client and can be tailored to the volunteer's schedule, including after school or after work.
  • One-time projects are available.

Mission Statement: Hancock County Senior Services, Inc. is a community based not-for-profit agency committed to providing comprehensive support services to older and disabled county residents, to assist them to maintain the greatest possible independence to prevent premature institutionalism.  Additionally, public transportation is available to residents regardless of age. The agency promotes community awareness of issues, challenges and solutions.
